Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains, in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR, which personal data is processed when you visit this website (pocetude.com), for which purposes, on which legal basis, and how long it is stored.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (server location: Germany). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner. When you access the website, the web server automatically processes technical access data (server log files): IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, and operating system.

This processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the technically sound presentation, stability and security of the website (e.g. defending against attacks). Log files are automatically deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless a security-relevant incident requires longer retention of individual entries.

3. SSL/TLS encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security and to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” prefix in your browser's address bar.

4. Web analytics with Umami (self-hosted)

We use the open-source analytics software Umami, which we run ourselves on our own hardware in Germany; no external analytics service is involved. Umami works without cookies and without cross-site tracking. Only anonymized or aggregated usage data is collected (e.g. pages visited, referrer, device type, country); the IP address is not stored, and identifying individual visitors is not possible. No data is shared with third parties.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the statistical analysis of usage to improve our offering. Since no personal profiles are created and no cookies are set, no consent is required.

5. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide (email address, content of the message) to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where the inquiry relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries). The data is deleted once your inquiry has been fully handled and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Payment processing via Stripe

Paid Pocetude subscriptions are sold and processed by Stripe as the merchant of record: Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland. The purchase contract for the subscription is concluded with Stripe; Stripe issues the invoice and charges VAT or sales tax where applicable. When you make a purchase, Stripe processes the data required for the payment (e.g. name, email address, payment details such as credit card number or IBAN, IP address, transaction data).

Stripe acts as an independent controller within the meaning of the GDPR for this processing. The legal basis for passing on the data is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Data may be transferred to third countries (in particular the USA); Stripe bases such transfers on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For details, see the Stripe privacy policy. Payment-related data is subject to statutory retention periods (§ 147 of the German Fiscal Code: up to 10 years).

7. Your rights

With regard to your personal data, you have the following rights against us:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
